Generally speaking, the weight of the balance weight, the center of mass and the rear suspension are given by the overall layout of the whole vehicle. The selection of the weight of the balance weight mainly takes into account the full load stacking of the forklift and the longitudinal stability of the full load. The weight of the counterweight directly affects the safety coefficient of the forklift before and after balancing, which is the main parameter determining the safety factor of the forklift truck. When the total mass G of the balance weight is determined, the post bridge center can be used as the benchmark. According to the assembly form of the balance weight on the frame, the installation dimensions of the balance weight can be accurately determined. There are 2 upside down V - shaped suspension blocks on the upper side of the fork truck trailing frame, which can be rebalanced by reusing 2 bolts.
2. ventilating hole
Because heat balance is a very important parameter of forklift truck, the poor cooling performance can easily cause the high temperature of cooling water of the engine, which will affect the whole performance of the forklift truck. Therefore, the position, air duct and airflow guidance of balance weight ventilation holes are particularly important. Generally speaking, the higher the opening of the ventilation hole is, the greater and greater the heat dissipation; the best use of the round angle transition between the ventilation holes and the radiators is best to help the air flow guide and improve the heat dissipation performance.
3. departure angle
The angle of departure at the lower end of the balance is also important. This angle is mainly to avoid the friction between the bottom and the ground at the upper and lower slopes. The theoretical departure angle is equal to the maximum climbing angle of the specific vehicle. The position of the lower end resection point of the balance weight should be determined according to the maximum climbing angle of the specific vehicle and the rear suspension of the balance weight. In this paper, we calculate the slope by 20%, balance weight and 715 mm, as shown in Figure 1. The formula for calculating the maximum lateral ground height of balance weight H is as follows:
H= rear suspension and climbing degree = 143 mm
From Figure 1, we can see that the theoretical resection point at the lower end of the balance weight is H mm at the far lateral height of the balance weight, and the angle is 11.3 degrees at the horizontal angle. In practice, the theoretical departure angle and H should be appropriately enlarged considering the factors such as tire pressure. Of course, if the minimum clearance at the bottom of the balance weight is greater than H, there is no need to consider the departure angle.
4. hoisting hole position
The position of the balance weight of 2 lifting holes is also important. For easy lifting and safety, the position of the 2 lifting holes should be arranged symmetrically on the left and right sides of the balance center line. The front and rear directions should be on the same line with the balanced weight center, as shown in Figure 2. Some balance weights use lifting lugs, and their positions determine the same reason.
5. outer contour
The balance weight has a certain effect on the beauty of the vehicle, so its outline should be based on the vehicle styling. When designing the vehicle, we also need to consider the important parameters such as the length of the driver and the turning radius. The turning radius is more important than the length of the coach. The balance weight of H2000 series forklift truck has always adopted the large arc style, the overall appearance is generous and durable, and the vehicle looks more round, which is in line with the public aesthetic point of view.
When designing balance weight, we need to pay attention to matching the position of frame, roof frame, internal combustion engine cover and water radiator, so as to ensure smooth line connection and Unified overall style. Next, we should consider the gap between the counterweight and the tyre, especially when the forklift is high, the gap between the tire and the counterweight should also be satisfied.
